Pentax 6x7 Lens Information Guide
Pentax 67 Lenses

In 1969, Pentax introduced the 35, 55, 75, 105, 150, 200, 300, 400, 600, 800 lenses labeled "Super Takumars." 1971 saw improved lens coatings and a name change to "Super-Multi-Coated Takumars." The 90 LS, 135, 500 and 1000 lenses were also added to the lineup at this time. The early 80's saw the introduction of the 45, 75 Shift, 120, 165, 400ED, and 800 ED lenses. The 55 and 90 lenses had optical updates during this time. These lenses had rubberized focus rings and were now labeled "SMC Pentax 6X7." The late 80's was the last major update with minor cosmetic changes ( all lenses now have rubberized focus and aperture rings ) and a name change to "SMC Pentax 67." In the late 90's and 2001, Pentax added a few more lenses to the line including the 75 2.8AL, 55-100, 90-180, and 300ED.

* Quality grades are based on user reviews on the net and are only in comparison to other Pentax 6x7 & 67 lenses ! So, when I write the 35mm Fisheye gets a C+ ( a bit below average ), its in comparison to the quality of other Pentax produced lenses..

** There seems to be a lot of sample variation on these lenses. Some users report wide ranging results. Grade based on an average of all comments.

*** Maybe a tripod/support problem as many astrophotographers swear by this lens.
